A Note from Pastor Laura

Hello there,

Laura Truax here from LaSalle Street Church.

Thank you for joining us in our virtual worship services. It is our ongoing prayer that you come away from our worship together feeling renewed, recentered and ready for whatever the day may bring. These are crazy days but the goodness and the glory of God still resounds all around us. Howard Thurman wrote, “There is a strength beyond our strength, giving strength to our strength.” Yes. That is what we are grasping – the divine strength beyond our strength. Hallelujah.

We are starting a 10-week group beginning this Thursday, Oct. 1. It is an introductory look at the Psalms. We will reflect on one psalm each week with a particular focus on putting our experiences into the structure of the weekly psalm. So, for instance on week one, we will examine psalm 139 and then reinterpret it through the lens of our own worries and transgressions; our own faint hopes and trust in God’s strong hand.

We will be keeping the group open for everyone can participate as their schedule permits, but we hope to build a rapport and space for authenticity within the group, and for that reason the group’s size will be limited.

We recognize how pinched many of us feel and we want this time together to feel expansive and refreshing. We’ll start promptly at 6:00 pm and we will sign off promptly at 6:45.

Interested? Sign up here!

See what you think. We would love to have you.
